Beginning Circuits at the OGM
This week we finally got to do some dis-assembly of donated devices. Students were testing various VCRs and stereo components, and others were starting to learn basic electronic circuit construction. There's something very cool about making a little LED light up:
Our website has all the basic information on the Old Green Machines project, like our mission statement, who we are, what we do, and how you can help us out.
We live in a throwaway society. Every day our landfills receive tons of old electronic devices. We intercept some of those, fix them, mod them, or dissect them for their components for other projects, recycling what we can. We also like to discover obscure old stuff and share the knowledge we gain.
We are a non-profit project that gives back to those that help us out. Besides basic operating costs, all money earned will be donated to charities that we are aligned with.
The Old Green Machines project is a spin-off of the Skyline High School Computer Programming Club.
